- 3. The SomnoStar Orbit portable sleep monitoring system from VIASYS Healthcare, is an easily configurable four- to nine-channel recorder. Data is collected from a range of sensors, including Respiratory Inductive Plethysmography (RIP) for thoracic/abdominal movement, airflow, oral/nasal pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse rate, body position, limb movement, and CPAP pressure. Snoring is derived from the flow signal. Data for 48 hours can be collected and downloaded into a polysomnography system such as the SomnoStar PSG system. This solution provides a means to assess sleep apnea in a range of settings.
