The Beckman DU-530 Lifesciences UV/Vis Spectrophotometer is a laboratory instrument used for measuring the absorption of ultraviolet and visible light by molecules in a sample. It is commonly used in biochemistry, molecular biology, and other life science research areas for a variety of applications, such as quantification of nucleic acids and proteins, analysis of enzymatic reactions, and quality control of pharmaceuticals.

The DU-530 spectrophotometer is equipped with a tungsten-halogen lamp and a deuterium lamp, which cover the wavelength range of 190-1100 nm. It has a spectral bandwidth of 1.8 nm and a wavelength accuracy of +/- 1 nm. The instrument allows for measurements in both single and dual beam modes, and can automatically correct for baseline drift.

The DU-530 spectrophotometer has a user-friendly interface and can be operated using a standalone controller or computer software. The software provides a wide range of analytical features, such as nucleic acid quantification, protein analysis, and purity analysis of compounds.
